Challenge
Pakistan is one of Asia’s fastest growing economies in cellular usage and digital spend per capita.
To further facilitate this, The PTA, Pakistan’s telecom regulatory body, required an efficient roll out of 4G/5G services across cellular towers nationwide.
They also wanted a better understanding of how to maximize return on network investments and improve service delivery for customers.
Optimization
TPL Maps developed a web-based GIS platform overlaying population data with currently active tower data, cellular sectors, and coverage data (3G/4G/5G) alongside deployment simulations to determine which towers required 4G/5G prioritization.
TPL Maps analytics was also utilized to create coverage versus population estimations and provide recommendations for which areas remain underserved by cell towers.
